This day marks the Official Opening Ceremony of BSA 4th alloy wheel factory by our Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Bin Ahmad Badawi.  While it marks another milestone to the achievement of BSA, it also represents a significant date with the launch of the 1st fully Automated Robotics Computer Numerical Control (CNC) System in Asia.  Representing its best ever factory, the extent of this is proven in this latest plant at Lot 18,Rawang Industrial Estate, the fourth factory.  In all the years of manufacturing, the founder Dato' Dr.Cam Soh has perpetually strive to improvise on the manufacturing process based on valuable exposure and experiences gained from his extensive overseas travel to automotive and parts exhibition including visits to reputable car manufacturers plant.  This latest plant represents the best in terms of the manufacturing process, flow and machinery employed.  Every effort was made to automate fully its operations to achieve consistency and precision in the manufacturing process and also to eliminate the possibility of human errors.

Decision on the use of these technology and machines were made based on actual results and comparison with other alternative machines and technology already exploited from its use in the other three plants. The fourth plant were set up on the basis of employing the best in terms of manufacturing process, flow, technology and machinery and automation to maximize efficiency, productivity, precision, quality, consistency while minimizing rejects and errors.
 
 

This grand function commenced with the arrival of VIP guests as early as 2:00pm traveling along a route decorated with BSA proud banners depicting its new and old factory right up to the factory.  As the entourage approached the site of the event, a sight to behold entails, streams of BSA logo flag lines, buildings washed in the corporate colours of BSA, green and yellow and a great big balloon bearing huge bold  letters, BSA, greets the eyes.  It was surely a BSA event!

Our distinguished guest of honor, YAB Prime Minister arrived sharp 4:00pm and was greeted by our founder, Dato' Dr. Cam Soh, VIPs, Directors and the management team before being accompanied by the founder and VVIPs to the stage for the beginning of the event.  Among the VIPs present were Dato' Chan Kong Choy, Dato' Tang  See Hang, YDP Tuan Haji Bakaruddin.

 

The Opening ceremony were launched after the speech by our founder and YAB with the unveiling of a plate to signify the official launch of the factory and BSA motorsport showroom amidst a loud burst of confetti showering our founder and YAB along with other VVIPs witnessing the signing by our DPM on the plate.

 
 
 
 

Prior to the visit to BSA factory, BSA motorsport showroom were visited first.  It showcase BSA proud collection of the latest range of VSC technology alloy wheels as well as a GOKLMinardiAsiatech F1 car, all in fine taste evidenced by numerous comments to our founder.

 
 

Ensuring from this, the team were led by our founder for the commencement of the factory tour.  The first stop was the launch of the 1st in ASIA, employment of the new Automated Robotics CNC System in BSA 4th factory.  Our DPM were mesmerized by the machine and spent quite a while acknowledging the works and process of the Automated Robotics CNC system before proceeding to the Foundry section.  Here, the visitors were once again bewildered by the range of machines available.  This time it was the Gravity Tilting Casting machine, the action of which simulating that of the action of a fine gradual tilting pour of a glass of wine in order to avoid ripples in the drink.

Last but not the least, the VSC technology mesmerized our visitors as they progresses with the factory visit to the Paintshop department.  Here, they are treated to a magical experience as they witness the transformation of the wheels to a superior finishing sporting "mirror image", giving the wheels a dazzling outlook.

All in all, it was a very eventful day with the night being celebrated by all staff as the 2001 Annual Dinner and gathering with Lucky Draw prize giveaways.

 
 
BSA is proud also to unveil its BSA Motorsport showroom, officiated by YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Badawi.  a large logo of BSA with F1, followed by the logo GoKLMinardi on the front tells all, the proud association with KLMinardi for the F1 2002 season.  The showroom measures 25'x40' and is a proud showcase of the works of BSA.  On one end of the showroom display a
dazzling range of BSA latest VSC product.  A total of 46 different model of the sizes form 15" to 20" sporting the VSC finishing are exhibited.  A wall showing BSA participation in the Japan GT Championship 2001 were evident with the BSA corporate identity Porsche race car racing along the tracks.  A mannequin sporting the BSA race suit and another resembling a BSA umbrella girl just next to the painting completes the picture.  Two transparent stand bearing BSA achievements in the motorsports arena, BSA corporate identity and standard souvenirs and publications can be found next to the display of the alloy wheels.

To top it all, the remaining walls of the showroom are paraded with little squares of yellow and green alternating, taking after BSA corporate colors with photos of BSA involvement in the motorsports arena.  Flag lines for the official launch of the 4th factory are hung on the beams streaming downwards into the showroom.

The climax of it all is the availability of the KLMinardi race car in full display on the floor for the showroom.  A special arrangement was made with KLMinardi to have the replica car housed here in BSA premises at its motorsports showroom for the whole season.  Complete, BSA motorsports showroom represent the ideal exhibition of BSA alloy wheels to its worldwide dealers and potential buyers and visitors for business discussion and cordial meetings with the comfort of a plush sofa in the flavor of motorsports atmosphere.
